Atlas of CH3OH absorption spectroscopy by using a 395 MHz tunable CO2 waveguide laser
Abstract
Optoacoustic techniques are used to systematically investigate the absorption of CH3OH (methanol) around each of the normal CO2 laser lines. A cylindrical single-pass sealed cell was used, and signal detection was by means of an electret microphone inside the cell. A graphic atlas of the 158 absorptions obtained is presented. These measurements were Doppler-limited, using the actual energy available along the frequency tuning curve.
