The influence of axial pressure gradients on the breakup of an eddy
Abstract
It is shown that the pressure gradient along an eddy axis is influenced by the radial and azimuthal velocity components. An explicit expression for the pressure gradient can be obtained by integrating the impulse equation for the radial velocity components in the radial direction and by differentiating the integral by axial coordinates.
