Composite dielectric waveguide
Abstract
Composite dielectric waveguides have been recently proposed to facilitate the propagation of millimeter waves. The least-squares boundary residual method is used here to calculate the dispersion characteristics of a generalized multidielectric waveguide structure. The results are compared with those obtained in some simpler cases using the variational method. In general, the advantage of the least-squares error-minimization technique over the variational method is that the former reduces the dimensionality of the basic function system, resulting in acceptable convergence.
