Ascaplots from Soviet stations for the year 1980
Abstract
Auroral observations for the year 1980, carried out using all-sky cameras at ten Soviet research stations in the Arctic and Antarctic, are reported. The corrected geomagnetic coordinates were calculated using the system of Gustaffson (1974). Auroral data are given in the form of ascaplots representing the frequency of auroral activity in three latitudinal intervals (north, south, zenith). Auroral activity in the zenithal region is given in a three-ball scale. Information on cloudiness and moon lighting is also presented in the form of ascaplots.
