Installation d'essais pour la modélisation à échelle réduite des impulsions électromagnétiques
Abstract
Features and performance parameters of a test rig for examining the behavior of scale models exposed to EMP radiation are outlined. The reduction in scale was accomplished by linearizing the Maxwell equations and providing for temporal diminution and frequency augmentation. A conical antenna is employed to emit 1 MHz-5 GHz pulses in the form of transverse EM waves. The component is placed on a 12 sq m wood platform encased in aluminum. Sensors are capable of recording signals with a 6 nsec resolution. Traces on an oscillator screen are digitized and subjected to fast Fourier transformations. Test results are reported for a unipolar sensor and a numerical electromagnetic code is used to analyze EMP test data.
