Some optical properties of the Venus surface.

Attention is given to the results of direct measurements of Venus surface optical properties by Soviet and U.S. probes such as Veneras 9 and 10, Veneras 11 and 12 (which furnished data on surface albedo), and the large Pioneer Venus probe. Results are presented for the spectral intervals in which the measurements were made, and the effective wavelengths for each spectral interval are given. The dependence of surface albedo on wavelength at the probe landing sites in question is also plotted.
