Analysis of microstrip line tolerance using the Monte-Carlo method
Abstract
The effect of W, H, and E(r) tolerances on the impedance and effect of a microstrip line was analyzed with the Monte Carlo method. Z distribution and Duroid dielectric substrate effect were investigated, and their respective sensitivities were calculated. Various methods can be used to calculate the impedance and epsilon effect of a microstrip line. Effects such as dispersion of frequency, anisotropy, and pressure of the conducting substrate are influenced by line width and other manufacturing criteria. The Monte Carlo method utilizes circuit tolerances, and it lends itself particularly well to the analysis of a combination of microwave circuit lines.
