A method of analysis in the solar occultation measurements
Abstract
A practical technique which is applicable to the analysis of solar occultation measurements is described. The densities of aerosol and ozone in the lower stratosphere were measured by balloonborne Sun photometers for solar occultation reducing the observed optical depth to the extinction profile. Analytical procedures were improved. It is emphasized that the effect of refraction and absorption of sunlight in the atmosphere should be estimated accurately.
