Trends in angle servo techniques for tracking radar scanners
Abstract
Angle servo control of scanners has gained importance in radar technology along with signal processing. Much work is being done in the field of linear continuous control systems with specific application to angle servo control of tracking radars. This has contributed to a series of filters to predict and smoothen the tracking error. These filters are applicable to analog systems. Present day radars use microprocessor-based dedicated computers for error extraction for angle servo. With the introduction of computers, the servo is a sampled data control system. This paper described methods of obtaining minimal tracking error by utilizing different kinds of optimal adaptive filters and available discrete data servo theory.
