The design and performance of modern two-dimensional medium range defence radars
Abstract
A study of the performance characteristics required to meet the various operational roles of medium range radars, both static and tactical, has led to a new generation of radars to address the exacting operational requirements now demanded. A radar with a good clutter free performance at low elevation angles that will give good target discrimination is required, the means by which a modern radar can meet these requirements is described. In addition such a radar must have high availability and the cost of ownership minimized.
