Numerical simulation of turbulent flows in plane channel
Abstract
The three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations are solved numerically in plane channel geometry. A method is presented with which the equations are decoupled and reduced to a set of one-dimensional ordinary differential equations. The method was implemented with (a) finite difference schemes and (b) spectral methods. The relevant computer codes were tested at both low (laminar flows) and high Reynolds numbers.
