Exploration of new methods to produce efficient sources of coherent near millimeter wave radiation
Abstract
A new idea is proposed for generating intense near millimeter wave (NMMW) radiation based on photon recycling in a two temperature system. In this method heat is converted into NMMW energy using infrared photons as a catalyst. Infrared-infrared double resonance spectroscopy is applied to study energy storage and collisional transfer in molecules which are candidates for photon recycling schemes.
