Millimeter-wave dielectric guide components and integrated sub-systems

Recent advances in the area of millimeter-wave integrated circuits are reviewed, with emphasis on integration of the circuits using dielectric waveguides as the building blocks. Examples based on both existing and proposed integrable components and subsystems are included. The problems and constraints encountered in dielectric-based integration are discussed, emphasizing low cost manufacturing potential. A brief prognosis is made for future trends.
