Theoretical study of promising techniques for enhancing the power characteristics of industrial CW electroionization lasers
Abstract
The thermodynamic and gasdynamic parameters of the active media of electroionization lasers with open and closed subsonic and supersonic flow cycles are calculated. An analysis is also made of the optimal characteristics of the pump system and the thermal regimes of the active medium, making possible a significant improvement in the laser power characteristics. The proposed techniques make it possible to increase the efficiency and active-medium pressure of CW electroionization lasers, and to reduce the dimensions of the laser systems. Particular consideration is given to the characteristics of a CW electroionization CO2-laser with turbocompressor cooling.
