Summaries of FY 1983 engineering research
Abstract
An overview of DOE's basic energy sciences (BES) is presented and research activities are summarized. Emphasis is on investigation of: (1) Mechanical Sciences including tribology, heat transfer, and solid mechanics. (2) System Sciences including process control and instrumentation. (3) Engineering Analysis including non-linear dynamics, data bases for thermophysical properties of fluids, and modeling of combustion processes for engineering application. A summary sheet for each study also shows the research personnel, the amount of the grant, and the research laboratory or institution. Titles of the various investigations are listed by budget number. An alphabetical index to researchers is included.
