Tap noise-pressure fluctuations. Study of the acoustic behavior of hydraulic equipment in buildings as a function of the temperature
Abstract
Tap noise was studied using a hydrophone. A test bench provided with a noise spectra analyzer was employed. Studies with hot water showed the evolution of the noise level with the water temperature. The normalized noise measurement method is described, and is proposed as a standard for France. The curves showing the effects of temperature for different kind of valves are presented.
