Thermomigration in porous media. Study of the development of a drying zone
Abstract
Transfer phenomena in nonsaturated porous media, a situation frequently found in the soil was analyzed. Comparison with numerical results obtained by solution of the coupled equation systems describing the transfer phenomena is discussed. The results show that the direction of the temperature gradient (1 deg/cm) determines the direction of the capillary pressure gradient, and is a determining parameter for the kinetics of drying.
