Uniform asymptotic solution of the problem of diffraction for a linear quadrupole source
Abstract
A uniform asymptotic solution for electromagnetic diffraction of a line source field by a half-plane in a uniaxially anisotropic medium is presented. The medium surrounding the half-plane is described in a system of Cartesian coordinates by means of tensors of electrical and magnetic permeability. The diffraction half-plane is fully conductive and lies perpendicular to the distinguished axis of the medium. The incident wave is beamed by the linear quadrupole source parallel to the edge of the half-plane. The basic feature of the formulated solution is its essentially vector character.
