Contribution to the question bit error performance of CCITT study group 18
Abstract
Bit error burst performance of digital information communication channels at a rate of 2.048 kbit/s is discussed in the light of computer-aided evaluations of bit error structures recorded for these channels. Channel modelling quality was assessed by Neyman's contagious type-A probability distribution. Results were compared to those obtained in similar investigations. A satisfactory agreement is stated. Results show a possibility of achieving better approximations by means of type B or C distributions or generalized contagious probability distributions according to Beall.
