Pulse heterodyne equipment for measurements of range and velocity of moving targets
Abstract
A pulse heterodyne equipment comprising a transmitter with pulse length of 300 nsec and a continuous wave local oscillator was developed. Angular sensitivity and frequency behavior measurements were carried out. About 100 rangefinding measurements were performed, and it is shown that the accuracy increases with higher intermediate frequencies. The influence of the velocity of moving targets was simulated by a rotary disk. Results show that this influence diminishes with higher intermediate frequencies.
