Calculation of performance of an RF-excited transverse flow CO2 laser
Abstract
A theoretical model based on a four temperature model and gas dynamic conservation equations is described in order to predict performances of an electrically exited transverse flow CO2 laser. The effects of gas mixture, flow velocity, pressure, temperature, and the characteristic properties of the electric discharge on small signal gain and saturation intensity were investigated. Good agreement is obtained between theory and the experimental measurements performed with a radio frequency excited transverse flow CO2 laser.
