Design of a high-brightness, low-jitter, short-pulse laser for plasma diagnostics
Abstract
The High Density Z-Pinch machine produces a small high density plasma, on a time scale of 10 to 100 ns. This plasma is analyzed by the Moire-Schlieren diagnostic technique using a fast pulse nitrogen laser. A high-brightness, low jitter, low divergence laser system designed for this purpose using an oscillator amplifier configuration is described.
