Electroforming of complicated structures for the nuclear and aerospace industry
Abstract
Fabrication of concentrators for 100 kW solar energy plants; production of water cooled screens, boxes and targets for nuclear fusion experiments with the Joint European Torus; large scale fabrication of erosion protection shapes for airplanes; and fabrication of compact wind tunnel models by electroforming are discussed. Composition of electroforming electrolytes (nickel, copper); bath parameters; and process technology are described.
