Advanced technology UHF receiver study. Part 1: Receiver performance measurements
Abstract
Technical data regarding the performance of the advanced technology television receiver is presented. The tests performed on the receiver included measurements related to UHF taboos, receiver noise figure, other interference susceptibilities related to the receiver's design, and operational characteristics. The receiver operates on VHF as well as UHF; however, its operation on VHF is considered nonsignificant in most respects as the primary purpose of the receiver is for study of UHF questions. The receiver is viewed as a device of laboratory interest and not as a prototype for consumer production televisions. Even if the results of the technology are considered encouraging, it is anticipated that individual receiver manufacturers will design different receiver architectures, although the architecture could be employed in consumer products.
