Coordination of equipment maintenance in oxygen-converter shops
Abstract
A procedure is proposed for coordinating maintenance of converters and ancillary equipment in oxygen-converter shops. This can be an effective means of raising the level of utilization of production facilities. The procedure takes account of the available maintenance-services capacity within the shop and of services brought in from outside. The considerable benefits from maintenance coordination are illustrated by an example worked for a converter shop.
