A millimeter-wave amplifier based on a diffraction-radiation generator electrodynamic system
Abstract
A theoretical investigation is presented of signal amplification in a diffraction-radiation generator electrodynamic system (DRGES) and of the factors affecting the internal-noise level of the amplifier. An experimental study of a millimeter-wave amplifier based on a DRGES confirms the feasibility of achieving acceptable values of output power and power gain in comparison with other low-power low-noise millimeter-wave amplifiers. A power gain of 20 dB was obtained far from the self-excitation regime in the case of a maximum power of 200 mW in a passband of 15 MHz.
