Ferrite-varactor microwave circuits
Abstract
A method is proposed for calculating the parameters of a ferrite-varactor cell consisting of a ferrite resonator and a wire coil connected to a varactor. First, the resonance frequency of a system consisting of a ferrite resonator and a short-circuited coil whose diameter is equal to that of the coil connected to a varactor is determined experimentally. Then, the resonance frequency and the Q-factor of the ferrite-varactor cell are determined by solving a system of equations. An analysis of ferrite-varactor circuits is carried out by the well known methods of circuit theory using the impedance characteristics of the ferrite resonator and of the varactor.
