Analysis of open resonance systems in the microwave and optical ranges
Abstract
A method is proposed for calculating the frequency shift of a resonance system consisting of a disk-shaped resonator and an adjacent dielectric waveguide. An integral equation for the spectral density of the distributed current of polarization is obtained, and this equation is solved approximately in terms of matrices of wave scattering from the region where the resonator is coupled with the waveguide. It is noted that this aproach can be used to study the characteristics of rejection filters. In addition, this approach can be extended to the analysis of the filter characteristics of resonator systems which are promising as multiloop filters in integrated circuits in the microwave and optical ranges.
