The structural function of the lunar relief according to radar data
Abstract
An analysis is made of the frequency dependence of the radar scattering cross-section of the lunar surface in the wavelength range 3.6 cm-6 m for various angles of incident radiation. These dependencies are interpreted by using a solution to the problem of wave diffraction by a statistically rough surface characterized by a structural function. The structural function is defined as the mean square of the elevation difference between two points of the lunar surface.
