Nonlinear refraction of a light beam propagating along the solar wind
Abstract
The Monte Carlo method is used to determine the mean-statistical characteristics of a light beam in the case of thermal self-defocusing due to large-scale velocity fluctuations of the solar wind, whose mean direction coincides with the beam axis. This analysis is used to derive an expression for the effective turbulent thermal diffusivity.
