Generation kinetics of short-pulse-pumped lasers
Abstract
A theoretical study of the generation kinetics of short-pulse-pumped lasers is presented. Conditions for the achievement of this lasing regime are formulated, and approximate analytical formulas are obtained for the principal parameters characterizing its kinetics. The accuracy of the approximate formulas is assessed as compared with numerical solutions. The analytical formulas are verified experimentally using an analysis of the generation kinetics of an NdP5O14 laser pumped by the second harmonic of a YAG:Nd(3+) laser.
