Status and certain paths of the further development of autoemission electronics
Abstract
The published literature on the practical application of autoelectron emission is surveyed. Particular consideration is given to the utilization of film and wire type autoemitters with a Pi-shaped working end and to diode and triode microstructures with low operating voltages, preventing intense cathode sputtering. It is shown that successful design solutions in this area have led to the development of such electronic devices as high-power microwave devices, electron-beam, electron-optical, and probe devices, as well as micron-size diodes and triodes (promising elements of vacuum integrated circuits).
