The method of equivalent circuits in the theory of circuits of coupled resonators

A system of representations is developed which considers a circuit of coupled resonators (CCR) and its model to be a circuit of coupled oscillators. Equations for the excitation of equivalent circuits of a general form are obtained, and these equations are shown to agree with the rigorous theory of CCR excitation. The total impedance of a six-terminal network is determined, and a procedure for measuring the parameters of a CCR is elaborated. It is suggested that the equivalent circuit be viewed not as a geometric but as a physical model of the CCR.
