A method for predicting the rain-attenuation statistics of radiowaves in the range of 10-100 GHz - Horizontal terrestrial paths
Abstract
The attenuation of radiowaves in rain on horizontal terrestrial paths is analyzed using the method of the prediction of average statistical probability. Several aspects of the statistics of rain are examined for three climatic regions of the U.S.S.R. An algorithm is developed for calculating the statistics of the attenuation of radiowaves which allows the range of application to be extended to 10-100 GHz. Examples are presented of numerical calculations of the integral curves of the attenuation for these three climatic regions of the U.S.S.R.
