Radiation efficiency of a slot in a conducting screen coated with a dielectric layer
Abstract
The Green-function representation with the expansion of the field in LE and LM modes is used to derive expressions for calculating the field and impedance characteristics of radiation from a narrow rectangular slot in a screen coated with a dielectric layer. The contributions of surface and bulk waves are analyzed, and the radiation patterns of the slot radiator are constructed. It is noted that this approach can be used to design various types of slot antennas based on microstrip lines as well as microwave integrated circuits.
