A method for the representation of a discrete signal in a complex form on the basis of its Hilbert transformation
Abstract
The paper examines the basic relationships and properties of the discrete Hilbert transformation for a sequence, particularly a sequence with a finite number of elements. It is shown that the concepts of the phase, frequency, and envelope of a discrete Hilbert signal satisfy the same physical conditions as in the analog case. Reference is made to the use of discrete Hilbert signals in digital signal processing.
