Investigation of the temperature field in the active rod of a laser
Abstract
Real-time holographic interferometry was used to measure the temperature field in the rod of an Nd(3+)-YAG laser. The radial distribution of temperature differences in the active rod was examined for different pumping powers (1.14-2.62 kW and 1.85-3.23 kW). A satisfactory agreement between calculation results and experimental data confirms the suitability of the method developed by Savintseva et al. (1980, 1981) for calculating the temperature fields of laser rods.
