Gridless difference methods
Abstract
A generalized explicit difference method is developed which is applied, free from the restrictions of a calculative grid structure, to a grating of arbitrary calculative points. This permits the Cauchy problem in two-dimensional unsteady inviscid flows in multiple continuous regions to be numerically solved without special handling of individual points. The method's freedom from a particular grid enables the grid to be individually designed for different flow conditions and problems. A periodically unsteady inviscid gas flow through cascades moving against each other is considered as an example.
