Quasilinear relaxation during rapid collisional damping of Langmuir (plasma) waves
Abstract
The quasi-linear relaxation of an electron beam in a plasma is analyzed for the case where the electron collision rate in the plasma is higher than the quasi-linear growth rate. The distribution functions of the beam electrons, the wave spectrum, and the wave growth rate are determined. The results are presented in graphical form.
