Combined heat and mass transfer in free convection over a horizontal surface
Abstract
The concurrent heat and mass transfer processes under conditions of free single-phase convection near a horizontal surface have been studied for large Rayleigh numbers. In particular, attention is given to the case where the effect of concentration fields on the density of the medium near the heating surface is small in comparison with density changes due to temperature gradients. Expressions for calculating mass transfer are obtained.
