In-beam gamma-ray studies with tritons
Abstract
The (t, 2n) reaction has been used to study gamma rays from targets of 208Pb and 204Hg as a method of investigating this in-beam reaction. Although the methods and results are similar to those obtained from the (α, 2n) and (p, 2n) reactions, the (t, 2n) reaction is capable of populating with large cross sections nuclei which cannot be stronglu populated by other reactions. Both the excitation function and gamma-ray angular distribution data yield useful information for spin assignments.
