Electrodynamics of anisotropic waveguide structures
Abstract
The propagtion of electromagnetic waves in waveguide and resonance structures containing anisotropic inclusions is investigated theoretically and experimentally. Particular attention is given to structures with thin anisotropic films, which are of special interest for millimeter- and submillimeter-band applications. The analysis employs impedance boundary conditions of the anisotropic kind. Topics discussed include macroscopic models of anisotropic media, the input impedance tensors of certain anisotropic structures, the electrodynamics of regular anisotropic waveguides, and the principle of electrodynamic similarity for anisotropic media.
