Solid-state microwave diodes
Abstract
The principal properties of solid-state microwave diodes are reviewed, with emphasis placed on the properties that are relevant to the manufacture of diodes and to the design and operation of radio electronic equipment. The discussion covers the structure, the principle of operation, and applications of various types of diodes, including detecting, mixing, parametric, as well as multiplying and tuning diodes. Attention is also given to switching and limiting diodes, tunnel and backward diodes, Gunn diodes, and avalanche transit time diodes.
