Formation of integrated-optic elements in photopolymer layers
Abstract
An investigation was made of photosensitive photopolymer composites (PCs) based on oligoester acrylates, oligourethane acrylates, and oligocarbonate acrylates used in the fabrication of grating coupling elements in integrated-optic devices. The characteristics of PC-based waveguides are examined. A method is proposed for the optical copying of holographic diffraction gratings, initially formed in positive-photoresist layers using PCs. It is concluded that this copying technique shows promise for the development of grating coupling elements.
