Constitution of satellite switched TDMA network
Abstract
The optimal design method for a satellite-switched TDMA method with both a microwave switch and a baseband switch is discussed. On-board switching schemes and access schemes from an earth station are considered, taking into account traffic intensity between stations and the switching cost ratio. A traffic analysis method is shown for each switching scheme and access scheme, and the applicability for each scheme is investigated using the uniform traffic distribution model. The use of baseband switch channels as the final circuit to absorb the traffic overflow from microwave switch channels is shown to be cost effective.
