The influence of inlet temperature on energy-separation effects in vortex thermal-transformers
Abstract
Experimental data are presented on energy separation in vortex thermal-transformers of Rank type at gas inlet temperatures of 500-2000 K. The results confirm the possibility of achieving relatively high absolute values of heating effects to Delta T = 500 K. Starting with an inlet temperature of 1500 K, the process is significantly affected by gas dissociation, which reduces the heating of the hot component and augments the cooling of the cold component.
