Scattering matrix description of microwave resonators
Abstract
A scattering matrix reflectance and transmittance coefficient analysis is undertaken for two general cases of resonator couplings: a multiport with one port terminated by the resonator, and a resonator that is coupled in various ways to a number of transmission lines. The Q and resonant frequency effects of external circuits on the resonator are examined, and fundamental parameters are presented for commonly used microwave resonator couplings.
