Equally spaced monopole-north array antenna for circularly polarized wave
Abstract
Results are presented from an experimental investigation of an axially symmetric equally spaced monopole-notch array antenna formed on a conical conducting plate. It is shown that uniderectional circularly polarized narrow radiation beam patterns can be obtained over broadband frequencies. The input impedance remains relatively constant, the power gain is approximately 11 dB, and the axial ratio of polarization is 1.2 dB or less, including the charcteristics of the hybrid junction. The results are seen as demonstrating that this antenna, with its simple structure, will be useful for various applications.
