Peripheral temperature variation in the walls of noncircular ducts
Abstract
A simple conjugate flow and heat transfer model for the investigation of peripheral temperature variation in the wall of a noncircular duct is described. The model which is amenable to exact mathematical analysis and closely resembles that for a fin is employed to predict the effect of change in fluid flow rate on the temperature variation around the wall of a duct. The influence of real effects on the temperature is then discussed to account for the differences between theory and experimental observations.
