Experimental study of drag reduction by means of injection of a wall jet
Abstract
An experimental procedure and an experimental setup for studying drag reduction on a cylinder by means of a wall jet are described. The kinematic properties of the boundary layer were studied by means of a laser Doppler anemometer. It is found that semibounded wall jet can influence the properties of the boundary layer and also the parameters of a submerged jet at whose core this cylinder is placed.
